James A. Beverley 

James A. Beverley is Associate Director of the Institute for the Study of American Religion in Woodway, Texas and Research Professor at Tyndale University in Toronto, Canada. He is the author and editor of eighteen books, including Religions A to Z and Understanding Islam, the first book published on Islam after 9/11.   

He is a specialist on the relationship of evangelical Christians to Donald Trump. He has done three books related to Trump: God’s Man in the White House (Castle Quay Books, 2020), Evangelical Civil War (edited with Annette Johnson, Equal Time Books, 2020) and The QAnon Deception: Everything You Need to Know About the World’s Most Dangerous Conspiracy Theory (Equal Time, 2020).

Through his forty-two-year career Professor Beverley has developed an international reputation for his study of both new and world religions. Professor Beverley is a member of the American Academy of Religion, the Evangelical Theological Society and the. Canadian Society for the Study of Religion. His expert opinion has been sought in both criminal and civil trials, including the case of Holocaust denier Malcolm Ross. His testimony in a Toronto criminal case was included in a television documentary. 

Professor Beverley holds an Honors B.A. in Philosophy, Master of Divinity, Master of Theology, and Ph.D. (University of Saint Michael’s College, Toronto). During his doctoral work Professor Beverley studied with Hans Kϋng, the famous Catholic scholar, and Antony Flew, one of the world’s most famous philosophers.
